It's crunch time for John Calipari, and BBN is hoping to God that Calipari can pull a rabbit out of his hat on the recruiting trail
Current Roster: Scholarship Players
Marcus Lee 6-9
Tyler Ulis 5-9
Alex Poythress 6-8
Dominique Hawkins 6-0
Derek Willis 6-9
E.J. Floreal 6-4
In Coming Freshmen or Transfers
*Skal Labissiere 6-10
Isaiah Briscoe 6-3
Charles Matthews 6-5
Tai Wynyard 6-9
Stephen Zimmerman 7-0 (Chances He signs with UK: 35%)
UK was the early favorite but the last 48 hours suggests his hometown team, UNLV, have overtaken UK for Zimmerman's services next year.
Malik Newman 6-3 (Chances He signs with UK 30%)
Newman is a high profile recruit out of Mississippi. It appeared UK had the inside track on Newman, however, with Avery Johnson's hire at Alabama it appears Newman may go to the Tide. UK is currently third on Newman's big list.
Jaylen Brown 6-7 (Chances he signs with UK 45%)
It's back and forth with Brown. The latest buzz suggest Cal, as in the University of California, is making a late push. It's not looking good for UK.
Brandon Ingram 6-8 (Chances he signs with UK 15%)
Forget about it, he's going to Duke, or so says those crystal ball morons, but they may be right with Ingram.
Mike Thorne Jr 6-11 (Chances he sign with UK 70%)
Calipari may land the 6-11 Graduate Student out of University of Charlotte, we really need his senior leadership next season, I mean really need it.
Thon Maker 7-1 (Chances he sign with UK 55%)
This would be great if UK picks up Maker who was classified in the 2016 class but reclassified to 2015 in February.
I would expect Calipari to be hitting the phones hard looking for Junior College talent to fill the holes that will certainly be present in the UK roster next year. Zimmerman is the most disappointing story line at the moment as he looked more and more like a Kentucky lock, if the news is to be trusted Zimmerman is going to UNLV.
I don't how Calipari will fill the 13 scholarship slots available to him next year but Calipari has done it before, lets hope there is a trick or two up Calipari's sleeve.
* We must not forget that incoming Freshman Skal Labissiere is still going to have to face the NCAA eligibility gauntlet and according to some of the pundits it doesn't look good as there is a dark cloud hovering above the likely number pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He may have to ride the pine for a few games or the entire season.
