The managers for the Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians want to express one very important aspect of our mission. That aspect being; we are not in competition with anyone, any tribe or any organization. We can already sense a bit of anxiety with regard to other organizations and we are here to let everyone know we are not, nor will we ever be, in competition with any other organization with regard to prestige, recognition or membership numbers.
The Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians will never balloon to the size it once was. The Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians will remain exclusive. Our enrollment procedures will never change to allow anyone and everyone into the tribe. We have no interest in recognition but we will rightfully claim what is ours. From this time forward the managers for the Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians want the enrolled membership to cease any and all political communication on the part of the tribe and members will not engage in any competitive language with other organizations. We are here to teach our children how to be productive adults and we want to understand our surroundings and be able to survive if need be. Politics has no place in the Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians.
We also have no opinion or position with regard to the efforts of other organizations in their attempt to achieve recognition. As a whole the Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians DO NOT support state recognition until the Commonwealth gains a complete understanding of our real history. So if other organizations want to acheive recognition by traveling the path blazed by the Ridgetop Shawnee Tribe of Indians, that being gaining recognition by legislation, then we wish them all the luck in the world.
