UPDATE MAY 26, 2011: We have shifted our position on state tribal recognition. We will not support any effort for any type of recognition. Our position is not intended to single out any one particular group or tribe, we feel it is simply the wrong thing to do. We also feel it is our responsibility to get the message out because of our past position in the Native American community in Kentucky.
Just to clear the air for those seeking information about the Ridgetop Shawnee and the Southeastern Kentucky Shawnee Tribe. This new Tribe is NOT the new Ridgetop Shawnee nor do I have anything to do with. I truly and honestly wish them all the luck in the world and absolutely hold no grudges or ill will toward any of their members. Hopefully this has cleared the air. Again, we wish the Southeastern Kentucky Shawnee Tribe all the success in the world and hopefully they grow strong.
