I have turned a corner and so has The Rural Democrat. I am not speaking for the folks who participate here, just myself. I will no longer participate in the small Kentucky blogosphere. It has become so hostile it has become stale. I am also guilty for having a "don't give a shit" attitude, just a little defect in my personality I guess. I am going to concentrate more of my efforts on a new venture,.....
Hillbillyreport.org. I have made a promise that will do my best to make sure it is a success and I believe it will be.
The Rural Democrat is not going anywhere, but our subject matter may get a little edgy and take more of a national flavor. I am not going to participate in the Kentucky Blogophere as I did before, those days are now, as of today, over. Hillbillyreport.org actually takes the sting out of blogging. Jim Pence and Richard Dillon are two of the best we have in this state, bar none. I am a distant 6th or 7th and that's being very arrogant about it. So I am honored to participate.
Here at The Rural Democrat I am going to post some very controversial, LEVEL HEADED, threads on many of the most sensitive social and religious issues we face as Rural Americans. I am going to write about what most are scared to death to write about in the Christian community.
I blog for the pure enjoyment of blogging. I have never been paid for political work and have made next to nothing off of this blog since it's launch in December, 1996. I value the fact that I hate the money that comes with politics. I grew up in Harlan County, the money flowed like water. It was so disgusting it actually traumatized me. I will take no compensation for my work at Hillbillyreport.org., I believe that allows you the courtesy of partial anonymity. Blogging is a tiresome hobby, I stone quit once and who knows, I might stone quit again. I have bigger fish to fry and more important things to do with my time.
So hat salute to the Kentucky blogosphere as we know it today, The Rural Democrat is out. With the Bluegrassreport.org, gone, Bluegrassroots, gone; Jim Pence is in a league of his own and all of the conservative blogs have all but vanished, the Kentucky blogosphere, as it was once established , is over. A new breed has risen. Hillbillyreport.org is more of a national platform, more readers less bullshit. Oh harking back to the days of the original Kentucky blogosphere. I consider myself a part of that old blogosphere, or at least I would like to claim I was.
UPDATE: I will still be blogging about the 2010 Senate race here and at Hillbillyreport.org.
