Chairwoman of the Kentucky Democratic Party Jennifer Moore blasted Republican Secretary of State Trey Grayson for election day irregularities in Kenton County. In a Democratic Party email blast Moore says Trey Grayson is "incapable of ensuring fair elections in his own backyard".
She took it a step further suggesting that voters in the 23rd Senate District should be worried that their votes may have not been counted properly."At this point, no one in the 23rd Senatorial District can be certain that their vote was counted," said Moore." This is a powerful statement considering what is at stake. I will be interested to see how far the Kentucky Democratic Party takes this.
UPDATE: According to Page One Grayson's office has responded to the accusations made by Jennifer Moore. Grayson's Deputy Assistant Secretary of State says all votes were counted. So how does the KDP handle this situation? Fight or flight?

I know all of us are proud of our dads, but you democrats voted for Grayson, while my dad, Bruce Hendrickson, wanted to make things better for all voters. I spent so much time with everybody I bout memorized a lot of the speeches. I remember Grayson never did have any real new ideas, but my dad constantly spoke about election problems. I had to speak for him one night when he was late, and I knew that one real well, that He wanted to give people a reciept when they voted, and he wanted to make sure everybody felt good about voting. I guess they call it sour grapes, that I'm mad cause he didn't win, but you democrats just blanked him out. I love my dad, and you guys were wrong about him not being a good leader. So maybe Dad won't ever get into politics again, but you really don't know how the young people my age loved and repected him. Sorry, but I wanted to say this for a long time, and he's so proud, he might not like me doing this.

hey people-look at the kentucky constitution. any challenge after the election would be in the state senate, not in the courts.

There will be no challenge this is just a last moment of political posturing for a disgraced chair. Hendrickson would have won if he would have raised the cash. No cash no win.

Local elections are the responsibility of the county clerk, not the secretary of state. Jennifer Moore is a dumb*ss b*tch who has her position only because she won one lawsuit about an election in Louisville. She's lashing out at Grayson for no good reason except to hear herself talk. I'm no Grayson fan but he's not the one she should be blaming here.

I discovered Jake and PageOneKy last year during the Gov's race... I think from a link or comment from this site???
I have found that the blog is a good source of pol news, and he did a great job breaking the UofL scandal.
The downside of the blog is that even when Jake gets the facts right all his conclusions justify his prejudices. Don't think for a second it's a democratic blog. It's a Jakeocratic blog. There is nothing wrong with that. If he can make a living blogging... MORE POWER TO HIM!
Examples of the world according to Jake...
Jennifer Moore is the Devil
Steve Beshear is an empty shirt
Bruce Lunsford, Jeff Nobel and Trey Grayson are gods gifts to KY.
That's not to say he isn't right on some of these, some of the time, but he takes himself too way seriously. POK use to be fun. Over that past few months it's become a platform for Jake to attack his enemies and promote his "friends."
As for Jenny and the KPD. I think he's often been right on about her and the party, but his message gets lost in his blind hatred of her and everything she does.
The next state central meeting is Saturday. It would be very interesting to be a fly on that wall.
BTW... It's good to have you back Shack!

I heard Jake has already signed on to be Grayson's 2011 campaign manager.

Looks like Grayson ended up being right again. Say what you will about they guy, but he isn't wrong about this stuff all that often. We need to get him to change parties.
