Beshear and Mongiardo's dominance established
Governor Fletcher will soon be all out of political stunts to slow down the ticket of Steve Beshear and Daniel Mongiardo. Fletcher will soon resort to personal attacks and social belittling of his powerhouse Democratic opponents. The poll numbers are early but Beshear has the momentum and I expect his team to keep it.
From Pol Watchers
Here's a breakdown:
- Beshear: 62 percent
- Fletcher: 34 percent
- Undecided: 4 percent
Desperation on the part of Governor Fletcher has cost him in the past and now his political mistakes will cost him point after point with the electorate. Fletcher mouthed off at WHAS reporter Mark Hebert election night and now he has a choice to make, release his secret list of donors or expect a complete career ending butt whipping in November.
Beshear answers challenge; Fletcher still won't release donor list

Answering a challenge from Republican Gov. Ernie Fletcher, Democratic candidate for governor Steve Beshear said yesterday he will release his financial information, including tax returns, sources of income and a list of business partners.
If Beshear agrees to release his personal financial information, as Fletcher has, "then he can talk to me about a legal defense fund and so can you," Fletcher told Mark Hebert of Louisville's WHAS-TV. "Then he's got some ground to stand on."
Told of the challenge, Beshear promptly pledged to release his financial information within the next three weeks.
"The people of this state deserve to know that a governor has no conflict of interest from his own financial interests," Beshear said yesterday. "So I'm going to release a detailed list of all my assets and liabilities, everybody I owe, what I own and where my income comes from so that nobody can have any questions about whether I have any conflicts or not."
Beshear said it was "ridiculous" for a governor with so many ethical problems to challenge his integrity.
After being told of Beshear's response, Fletcher's campaign manager, Marty Ryall, said Fletcher has no intention of releasing the names of donors to his defense fund until after Attorney General Greg Stumbo leaves office in December.
Fletcher is a coward and he certainly has something to hide with this secret list of donors to his legal fund. Speculation will increase and his supporters will defect if Fletcher insists holding his confidential list close to vest. Why wont he release the list? Why the big secret? I think he is stuck between a rock and a hard place because there is clearly something the Governor does not want the people to see.

62-34. 'Nuff said.

why is the list a secret? Because Stumbo's a vindictive prick and would no doubt find any trumped up charge possible to go after those donors.
hebert's a prick too. I had a bad dealing with him years ago and haven't forgotten it.

Overconfidence? 62-34 speaks for itself. Your boy is done, you need to worry about Trey. Ernie is going to kill the rest of the GOP ballot!
